Why I Write

A girl once asked me

“What are you good at?”

And I replied with

“Words.”

To express myself without being misunderstood

Judged

Ridiculed

That is why I write

Poetry gives me the gateway to

Explore the deepest crevices of human emotion

Possible without limitations

Free from any obligations to conform to the status quo

I CAN YELL

I can cry

Be angry, scream, shout

REJOICE! With happiness

Most importantly I can tell a story

Through my poetry

And that is why I write
