Why I Write

There is no easy way to say this-

some people aren't meant to write.

My eighth grade language arts teacher called it the will of the pen

The pen chooses the writer

and its the writer's duty to carry out its will.

For this I write because its my duty.

I write because it's all I have ever known

I write because I didn't choose the writer's life

The writer's life chose me.
