Why I Write
Inspiration, Alliteration
Exaggeration without pronunciation.
There exists in my mind and soul.
Deep and dark shadows
In lonely hallow spaces.
Every day I hated myself
When I was younger.
It seemed like
A lifetime of knowing
And not knowing,
A lifetime of hate and resentment.
The window into my soul reflected like a mirror.
All the angry thoughts and sentiments.
I always believed in hope, faith and love
But those were only expectations
My religion had me dream of.
Those hallow spaces within my mind
Continued to hate.
Art, music and writing releases
The negativity.
Poetry brings out all that could not,
With a bunch of mixed-up phrases.
Poetry is art to me.
Poetry is therapy.
I don’t always have a lot to say.
I escape and search those
Dark spaces for answers and truth
About myself.
Writing poems
Seems to me,
Like I’m writing letters to myself.
I’m still not sure why.
Maybe to question my life
And all that I have experienced.
The good and bad.
Christianity, Satanism, religion,
Now just moments in the past
Continue to show their faces.
An endless cycle of torment,
Although, only an exaggeration
And metaphorical language to be spoken.
Poetry awakens the silence that has
Long been deafening deep within.
Poetry is
To me...
My life...
In short
A reason to write.
