Why I Write

Some people ask

Why do you write?

I just blink my eyes and smile and say

I write because I want to.

And they leave me alone.

But the truth is,

I write to get away.

From humanity, life,

And the world, because

Sometimes it just doesn’t feel big enough

And i need to get some time to myself to reflect.

Its like my own little safe haven

When nothing can ever get to me

Where I can be myself and nobody can judge me.

When I write, I am free.
