Why I Write
I once lay beaten, broken
I couldn't find my voice through the blood
I wasn't able to convey the hurt I was feeling
I thought Id never be heard
I write for the life that once ran cold from my veins
I write for those not yet at their end
I write most of all for the glory-
That only a kind hand can obtain
Once a quitter but never a fighter
I now fight through the pain and the tears
Never give up, never wander from your dreams
And most of all never stray from the right path
I write for those who wish for perfection
I write for the ones that made them that way
I write for the victims of lies and betrayal-
Most for the ones who never saw the light
Lessons to be learned flow from my fingers
Typed to be seen and read
Organized into stanzas from every memory that scarred my skin
I will never be weak again
I write to put everything I never said on paper
I write to stay sane
I write to keep the young living
But most of all I write to provide them a friend
