Why I Write I never knew poetry would help me so much It was in high school I discovered poetry My teacher helped me so I never knew why I wrote But I soon found out that, I write to free my mind To put myself at ease I write to set my soul free I write to keep calm Writing helps me keep sane In writing a discovered a new me I discovered a new talent about myself I write for it betters me When I write I see everything about me I see my struggles and my success I write because I feel invigorated I feel proud, and I feel important And that’s why I write
