Why I Write Reply

We give words meanings Not by definitions, but feelings. Such powerful, abstract conceptions, With which we encode our own perceptions. They fall out of our mouths, much like rain, Carrying emotions, from happiness to pain. It's all dependent On our own intendment. Personally, I like to see people smile So in most of my phrases, I try to beguile An audience to laugh, grin or smirk. It's all in good fun, my own little quirk. I enjoy this action, And it's quite an attraction, Writing in rhyme Even for a short time. From birthday cards to letters, Should I mess up, I have a few shredders. No harm, no foul. Mistakes, I allow. For nothing's more fun, To roll off the tongue, Then a clever play on words That sometimes sounds absurd. And so now you know Why I love to write so. It's because, poetry feeds my soul....
