why i write (scholarship slam)

i been asked before why i write and i simply say "im free to express my true feelings when i cant speak them. poetry to me is like art to a painter or music to a artist. when things start to go wrong i just write and it makes me forget all wrong. its my escape from all maddness. all i need is my paper and pen. i can write all day. poetry help me get through some of the hardest obstacle and roughest terrains in my life. this is why i write."
