Why I write is why I live
writing is a mission
a mission that is fullfilled
with the hands of a black male
slowly writing his will
a will that is empty
due to social order
when he leaves his family
forced across the border
hoping to come back
to see his little girl
but he is picking cotton
here in this new world
and why do i write
i write to feel free
to use what M.L.K and Abe gave to me
they gave me a new light
a light to see and live
cause poems aren't slang
it's talking in cursive
but the people that curse
and curse in wierd slang
they don't know what they live for
not to be a gang
so i write to be free
and outside of trouble
and to be myself
out of the bubble
