Why I'm Afraid of the Dark

Darkness.

It engulfs, it consumes, it overpowers.

It hurts, it maims, it kills.

It brutally murders.

It comes in the night, it surges and roars,

deafening.

And, it comes in the day,

it creeps up and attacks you from behind,

it jumps you,

beats you,

takes all your

hopes

and dreams,

and crushes your lungs before it blows your brains out.
