Why I'm So Me

I looked up to you because you were my first friend. We'd one day grow old and get married, that was the plan. Then there was that night when I told you I wasn't ready. You stopped my words and said, "Come on, we'll take it slow and steady." I pushed you away for all I felt was afraid. You pulled me close and told me to start acting brave. I struggled and twisted trying to not miss it. "Let me go! Let me go!" I scream so loud you can hear it on the streets. You say "Shut up and dont be so weak!" I take your words and use them right. I lift my one hand up real high. Back and SLAP right across your face. If I couldve reacted fast enough it wouldve been another place. To this day by that night I am scarred. I never thought my best friend would try to go that far. If I can't trust you then who can I trust? That's why I keep to myself. That is a must.

Poetry is life. Sometimes my mind stops and I don't know what to write. But in the long run poetry is a way to let go. I set my dreams free and lets my feelings flow. The whole world can know how I feel. From a line and a word it's my sanity deal. So I write so my voice can be heard. I'm no longer just hidden from the world. -Grey <3
