Why Love?

I was told when I was young

That love was a high you won’t forget

That everyday was full of fun

That nothing would be a regret

I think love is a shooting star

Beautiful from the ground, a hope in the night

But when you look from a far

It’s a burning fire that will lose its light

Perspective is gained at a distance

All good things end

But distance is the enemy

The way to loose a friend

Love kills you with what you desire

Kindness, laughter, and happiness too

But when you fall off the wire

Love takes away your balance like a fool

For when your soul chooses the one

Your heart never recovers

When he decides to run

And your fire is smothered
