Why not

I live in a world

Where your choices define you.

Where your accidents are huge mistakes

whether or not it was a mistake you'd love to make.

Where a mother is unacceptable if your age isn't right.

Where college isn't an option for those of us who have those little lights in our lives.

I live in a world

That ridicules and rejects.

That whispers and gossips.

That decides my body is their business.

That sets up obstacles just because the doctor said "It's a girl".

I live in a world

Unable to cope.

Unable to breathe.

Unable to be.

I live in a world

Where I am a woman

Proud and strong

But

Not

Free.

And that first change to freedom

WIll not start with me.

It will start with all of us.

Sister.

Mother.

Daughter.

Wife.

We are strong

Together.

Not seprated by names

Titles given to us by

Society

Men

Each other.

We will stand strong.

We will change it all.

But there will not be an

I

Me

Myself.

It will be

We.
