Why Not?

When your dreamscapes turn to deserts-

And your heart becomes a stone…

And you sadly find complacency,

In dwelling all alone-

When the very thought of romance-

Makes you heave a heavy sigh-

And you find that you are longing-

For a time and place to die…

You struggle with confusion-

Knowing neither “why?”, nor “what?”

Then the heart answers your questions-

With the mocking words, “Why not?”
