Why not now

Why

Why must we chase something so superficial

Why do we chase tomorrow

What are we running towards?

Because after tomorrow there is merely mortality

And nearly all of us fear that

We fear not having immortality

Why must we chase a moment that hasn’t happened yet?

Why must we want something that hasn’t been given to us yet

Why must we live in the future instead of the now

What is it that we are running towards?

What is it that makes us want to go forwards?

What does the future hold that is so grand?

What are we hoping to have? A new Land?

Why are we always focusing on who we are going to be

Instead of who we are now?

We live our heads in a time machine

Always looking forward never stopping to look around

To look at where we stand now

To look at the people in our lives currently

To look at the memories we are making

What does the future hold?

Who knows

But instead of wondering on things we don’t know

Why don’t we wonder on the things we do.

Because sure dreaming is fun

But dreaming shouldn’t be for everyone

Because then nothing would get done.
