Why Poetry?

Poetry.

Why do we like it so much?

Is it because they can be so easy to relate too and understand?

Or because they can be so complicated which can make them so grand?

Is it the way it can be oh so short?

Or the way it can be oh so long?

Or do we just love, how it can be put to song?

Poetry can have so much rhythm and movement.

There is always a perfectly set tone, that can even change for improvement.

Poems aren’t always so cheerful and smooth.

They are not always meant to soothe.

Sometimes they can be dark and dreary

And the tone can even be set to: eerie.

Do we like how it can be inspiring and filled with meaning?

Or how persuasive and manipulative it can come off as seeming?

Poetry can be about any subject.

It can range from an abstract emotion to a simple story or object.

Poetry can explain and teach almost anything.

So much so, that It can even explain itself.

Hopefully now, you will want to learn a little something from poetry yourself.
