Why is she hurting
Why is she hurting, is it because she feels unloved?
Or is it because off all the drama she can’t rise above
All she need is a push or a helping hand
People doesn’t understand her pain
So what should she do?
Walk with her head down in shame?
She was addicted to wanting to be wanted by the people she loved
But one day something happened that should’ve
She was raped by a man she thought loved her
This turned out to be her mother’s brother
For years after that day she held it all inside
Wishing she had a supporter by her side.
She turns 16 years old, possibly pregnant by her 20 year old boyfriend
Building fuel for the fire, her mom hated him
Weeks later, relived that she isn’t with child
She decides to go wild
Sneaking out to hang with friends
Using drugs to mend
The heart that was once broken
To get rid of the pain that was unspoken
Of the days she cried
Yelling “I’m tired, I tried”
She has nightmares of that night asking herself
Why am I hurting?
Her mom frustrated and cussing
The state discussing
In her head she thinks “no more partying.”
March 3rd shit started turning
Taken to a group home that morning
All she thought was “no more running”
Thinking about her past one night
Brought back hella fright
So she started to write
A letter to her mom explain what was wrong
And at that point she realized why she was hurting
Little do people know she was me
Talking about my pain made me free
From all the bullshit of my past
So now I yell to the bullshit “KISS MY ASS!”
