Why sing

I feel it take hold, like a vise, Grasping at my being. The tune, tipping, and turning over the edge. The beat, breathing life. It’s as if it conquers my soul. I know and understand the feelings behind those lyrics. I am lost in another world. The song is controlling, Yet freeing. It places focus on the whirlwind of emotions, The emotions that at times become consuming. To see colors for the first time, Finally breath, and taste sweetness. Born again, as pure as the lyrics! And know peace at heart. The melody morphing into something, Something that is one with myself. A rush of blissful joy. A flood of soft warmth. Born again, as pure as the lyrics!

Thanks, It was what I was going for. I had hoped my expansion of lyrics and singing would also help to structure the poem like lyrics.

This really reads like a song, and it's funny because the poem mentions "lyrics".
