Why Together

The problems we face don't go away easy.
They surround you and tend to consume me.

It started when we were mistaken;
We thought the other's soul was taken.

I was afraid to say something before,
I thought you wanted something more.

We both learned this not to be true,
And a blessing: it didn't stop me and you.

We started off devoted and strong,
Thought we could never be wrong.

Regardless of the hardship, fire and flame,
It was never you who I could ever blame.

We wanted to be in the present- not the past,
Because we knew you and I could last.

The way that you love, and the way that you stay true-
I cannot place into words equal value.

But for now I can say something that means
More in this world- this world full of dreams.

The only thing I can say that is true,
Is that I deeply and truly love you.
