Why Try When There Can Only Be ONE.

My list of reasons why I have considered applying for scholarships to be a joke

One, why do I attend a university just to come out broke

One, why do I try to apply for scholarships when it is easier to get loans

One, why do I aim to get loans when paying it back is equivalent to mortgages of homes

Two, is the first place loser

Three, is the receiver of the trophy that's  brown

So why try when there can only be one

Graduating school is like climbing everest with just a rope

One, I begin again because that's the person who will the loan

One, more time not winning a scholarship, to escape I will in Rome

One, more time I pray and hope

Two, win this scholarship and lessen the cost

Three, again receives the unworthy bronze trophy that is won

So why try when there can only be one
