Why We Write

The truth, the lies,

The pent up anger;

The monster beneath our beds.

The ups, the downs,

The imperfections;

The faces, as they turn red.

The smiles, the laughs,

The happy moments;

The days well-spent with friends.

The tears, the pain,

The broken hearts;

The blood that has been shed.

A word we thought,

Or felt, or saw-

Meant paper met with pen.

For everything we think and feel,

We write it down instead.
