Why, Why Do.......... I Write?
Why I write?
Why do I write?
I write to live on… beyond
My time
What else can I leave behind?
My clothes, phones, and jewelry can’t go on with me
As a matter of fact
They change and get outdated so fast that it can’t even count
Pictures can speak 1,000 words to so many, but what about me?
Pictures can give you a glimpse, unless you want to get closer
To my words, with my words, the words I choose to write
Shows my patterns of thinking
My emotions
What I been through and done
What I want to do?
Who I love, despises, want, need, and desire.
It comes from me
Through my hands, my mind
It physical, it shows movement
The fluency and agility of my mind
The translation of my thoughts and feelings
Transcribed vicariously in random increments of time
I write just cuss’
My heart wishes to speak
But sometimes my mind and heart can’t talk at the same time
It gets too confusing and jumbled up
So I choose to write
To clear up the confusion
Get them in agreement
To realize, to discover, uncover truths
To separate fact from fiction and to create a clear distinction of the two
I must admit sometimes that don’t always work
And sometimes I refuse to accept these things
But on paper these truths can never lie or hide
Honesty is the highest state that my writing can live in
Otherwise it won’t survive
Against the strict scrutiny I impose on myself
And my illusions of understanding the realities of life
Lastly I write
Because I hope
That one day I can connect
Transcend to a place,
That allows me to travel beyond the walls of my mind
And somehow reach the fingertips of those
Who like me are seeking for an understanding, a state of higher consciousness?
So This is Why, Why I Write
Thank You
