The Wild Outdoors

I sit and ink our page

with letters of heart-filled text.

with photographs of worn out memories

that i deeply grasp onto.

I swear you will never know

the rivers of regrets that run wildly in my veins

whenever i come across your name.

The footsteps that fall behind my wake

dread heavier with every breath that i breathe.

i tend to explore places that should be left back in time,

i keep running even though i know my shadows are faster

than i ever have been.

in my attempts to capture the world in my palm of my hand,

my hands snap photos out of existence and into my palm.

my eyes attentively scope the haze before the sunrise every morning.

subconsciously knowing that it rises regardless of days before,

I am learning that i must too move on.
