Wilderness

The wilderness is a place I was and still am at

I am tempted and tested to see how low I can get

My true intentions and desires of my heart all manifest

I am now stripped bear of all my lies

the real me remains and the truth is sustained

I am who I am and in the wilderness I'm purged of shame

Every wrong I have done begins to surface

and any hate I contain tries to fulfill its purpose

But I cannot allow the wilderness to kill me

I'm alone and the scorpions and snakes try to bite

yet I see the light at the end....a tree breaks it up

The wilderness is long and lonely but doesn't last forever

The wilderness prepares me...

it prepares me for better
