Wildflower

I started as a seed. As i began to grow my roots, and sprout my leaves, Wild fires smothered me. They took my leaves and tried to destroy me. Tried. I came back with more beauty than before, Leaving eyes sore. Then came the rains, trying to drown me. Dampening my hope. Tried. I came back even more marvelous, and sprouted leaves of the most magnificent green. My petals came through, one by one. Month by month. I am a reflection of the blood red sunrises. I am not the despair of the end. I am the promise to begin again. I will flourish, Like i was born to do. For i am a wildflower, And i will rise.
