Wildflowers

The wildflowers bloomed today, And knowing that you were away, I picked for you a fresh bouquet. The wild daisy and buttercup, The ones I'd bring you to make up. I know how much they cheered you up. Black-eyed Susan and Queen Anne's lace, Enough to fill your mother's vase. I'll leave them in our special place. I only wish that you were here To see and touch, and bring some cheer To the wildflowers blooming near.
