The Will

Stuck on an island

just me and you.

I thought I lost you.

all those years ago,

a bullet in the gun,

I couldn't wait to feel none.

But suddenly you appeared,

took the gun from my hand,

told me not to cry,

it would be alright.

We are alone again

my only friend.

On this island,

my mind wanders often,

if I would have taken the bullet,

we wouldn't be here.

But that isn't what you wanted,

you helped me through

and now you're here telling me once again,

"We'll make it through this, my old friend."

When they rescue me and ask how i made it through alive,

I will smile and say, "It's all thanks to my old friend, The Will to Survive."
