Will I ever find you?

As I walked through the crowd, broken and bruised.

Feeling as though everyone could see through me, that I had been abused.

I tried to look past them, I continued calling on you and kept moving on.

Screaming and running reaching for the sun.

But then the darkness came over me.

Shielding my eyes so I could not see.

“Where are you? Where are you?” was all I could say.

When I found you, you looked me in my eyes with a look I couldn’t convey.

The darkness pulled me in, wrapping me in its heat.

I reached for your hand and as I held it, it felt bittersweet.

With the singe of the darkness and the coolness of your hand.

You took me out of the darkness, wrapped your arms around me, I didn’t understand.

“I thought you left” I whispered, as you laid a kiss upon my cheek.

“I was looking for you, please take me back” you said as I began to feel so weak.

And with that the sky cleared up, one cloud was shaped like a pen.

“Let’s rewrite our story, never leave me again”.
