Will I Ever See a Butterfly?
I am lost in the dirt of despair,
I count the grains of sands as I slowly die.
I fear the ones who came to kill me,
They came with spears and rocks,
Forcing themselves in my pit of sin.
I feel the pain they inflict on my body,
As they ripe and tear I feel my life fading
Away to the world of the ghosts.
I tried to stand and save myself,
But my bones were popping out.
I fell asleep and died away.
I woke to find lions licking my wounds,
I haven’t died yet, but lost my soul.
I stand and feel my heart collapse,
And I lose my friendly feeling.
I turned to wicked ways and hunted all who afflicted me.
I turn my head as I watch them die,
I am wicked, willowing in self-anger.
I snicker and cry as I watch my prey,
I will wither away like all before me.
I wake to see lions and boars sleeping beside me.
My wickedness has set me apart from my friends,
They all have turned against me swinging their flogs.
I live in a hell and die as a demon.
The evil are like vines that get ripped out every year,
I stab my own heart as it slowly wilts.
Will I ever see again the life I once had?
I welcome death, but it steers away,
Can I find my soul amongst the dead?
Men come again to torture me,
My hands are bound and my feet are nailed,
As I lay I cry out in pain.
They begin to turn me inside out,
I am afflicted with spears and knives.
They rip my eyes and mouth apart,
But my ears are left to hear the wickedness.
I now have really died and my body has decayed.
As I fade away I open my eyes to the evil I have given to men,
I strongly call out to them.
I rip my own heart and let myself fall on my knees,
I gave up my wickedness,
Then as I look to the skies my eyes are restored,
I saw a light and a shaded dot.
I saw a butterfly and I smiled and then fell into an everlasting sleep...
