The Will to Inspire
My mind is racing while tears are racing.
Trying to see which one can hit my cheek first.
It hurts.
I have this thirst.
First, to see my dreams before I see a hearse.
See the stars in the sky before the earth divides.
Divides and dumps my remains inside.
Still I remain.
I am trying to contain the pain but I can't.
So I take this pen and this paper and my thoughts go insane.
Insanity.
I can't believe I saw the same person as I sat at the vanity.
I can't help but ask, why is everybody mad at me?
I'm just trying to catch the top before the top catches me.
And pulls me to the bottom into a lost dreams sea.
Still I see.
The will to inspire.
The knowledge to inquire.
The chance to reach success before my casket cues the choir.
I wish to go higher.
Above the crooks and the thieves and the liars.
Above celebrities, the Heat and the Lakers.
But nowhere above the feet of my Maker.
