Will to Love
I look at you with eyes of love.
Staring at you from across the room,
I see me in you.
I could not help but think of
How you've made your suitors swoon,
And if what they say, is really true.
I count your lashes as you sleep,
Withold the urgency to weep
for the abundance of you that I consume.
Enamored by your touch,
A thrill soon turns to rush,
As I find myself entangled in your convoluted loom.
What is this weakness that I feel?
What is this fear that I conceal?
For I hope to reach a revelation soon.
To you I bare an open chest,
This cloak of armor I've finally put to rest,
Completely vulnerable to love's wounds.
These loving eyes have now been caught
On reflections of self I've long forgot,
Now a tender memory, a distant familiar tune.
