The Will of a Neglected Child
Congrats to you both
Round of applause
Looks like everyone
Believes your cruel façade
It’s almost impressive
How you both put on a show
To make it look just like
You’re the best people to know
Meanwhile I’m here
Behind the curtain
Wondering why
I just keep hurting
the bullshit you’ll tell
Your lame excuses
Making me wonder
If I’ll always be useless
Growing up in a shadow of doubt
Feeling so alone
Your constant negligence
Leaving me cold to the bone
Trying to silently cry
“I’m here”
Then when you complain
I disappear
But congrats to me
I put on a show
A façade so great
You’d love to know
I pretended like
You didn’t make me ill
I pretended like
I didn’t have a will
A will so strong
I’ll show my best trick yet
I’ll disappear
And I’ll never come back
