The Willow

Have you ever seen a man

Whose eyes are stone

And cold

Whose frozen lips have sinned against

The woman

He used to hold

He's all Alone,

too afraid,

to face

what he has done

to the Weeping Willow

sobbing sweet

For what she had but now has gone

they carry on together

drifting fast apart

the willow and the lonely man

with a weeping

Broken Heart

The willow stops

she dries her eye

they can not see her sad

Her roots are strong

though she cries

for the love she thought she had.

the willow takes her children

she plants them far away

she finds the pieces

of her broken heart

and hides them carefully.

the willow knows

she is enough

Her love will suffice

The willow walks

away from her vice

the lonely man

and sees the light of day.
