Wilted

Each one of us started out as a seed, a simplistic pellet which shines with potential, letting the world envelope us with it's being and nurtures us into a little seedling. This time of our existence is filled with promises. Promises of love. Promises of prosperity. Promises of happiness. We grow and thrive on these promises, hoping for the existence of all 3. Finally, we bloom into our prime, no longer a seedling, but still with a conceivable future. Come to find that the very promises we grew to believe, to seek after, to live for, are all but unattainable. We realize that the dreams we based our reality on were nothing more that unreachable ideas. With that, the very life that we now possess seems to lose all purpose, all meaning. Our beautiful petals that we attained through our now perishable belief begin to wilt,  and we wilt with them.
