Wilted Flower

The flower in the vase
    By the window sill
Gave us air to breathe as it grew
Beauty to look at in all time
Taken advantage of
     It was picked
And there it sits in the window
Wilting slowly
But sooner than it should
I weep for that beauty
As it was take. Advantage of
Ill never forget that flower
    And where it sat
Ill never forget the tears as each
       petal fell
I keep one in my pocket
To remind me
   Of all that she was

It's the little things overlooked
    The violence understated
The neglect we ignored
    The love we always hated
And Even through it all
    It's something I've always appreciated
