Wilted Love

Roses, they wilt, Violets, they die, Not all beautiful things last, Like you and I. You handed me the roses, The violets were sent, I gave you my time, My heart, I lent. They stood very strong, As did we, The time, it passed, They were so beautiful to me. But the petals began to shrivel, Fallen leaves I did seek, Just like our love, The stems were becoming weak. The vibrant roses and violets, Began to see their day, I had to rid them, Like you threw love away. Roses, they wilt, Violets, they die, Not all beautiful things last, Like you and I.

I liked your poem. It felt passioate. I also loved how you started and ended the same! Not to mention, it's a poem that rhymes! For me, it doesn't feel like a poem unless it rhymes! Great job! :-)
