Wilting Roses

I'm supposed to be having the time of my life

but it's days like these that I'm contemplating what it means to be alive

as I pick the thorns out of the bouquet of beautiful roses

I know that they're bad for me but it's better to have bad

than to have good wilt away into nothingness

creating eternal sadness and deja vu of repetitive events

I'd like to have the beautiful roses in my life

but they also come with the crimson blood

that comes from the slash of thorns

the thorns that are so bad for me but I find them addicting

the thorns cause pain but I'd rather have pain

than a good thing that comes and goes

because pain and sadness is eternal and will never leave

but wilting roses always end up dead in the end
