The wind
The wind came and whispered to me
“Wont you come along?”
“No” I said very loud and clear
This is where I belong.
He was amazed and muttered angrily
“Wont you go and play?”
I drowned my pain in laughter and said
“I have no more dolls of clay”.
“No longer a little girl, you see
Into a woman I have grown.
How dare you ask me to roam and play
Blow away now, all alone.”
With dampened hope the wind blew away
To a place where my spirit lies
Where I played all day with friends and foes
Under the clear blue skies.
With an ocean twirling in my eyes
I sing a lullaby
To the child on my lap who lay
The strongest ever tie.
“Hush my baby, go to sleep.
Keep your fears at bay
The winds’ gone forever now,
I have send him far away”.
