The Wind
The Wind
I want my dreams to
Soar like a kite,
To move free and easy
While I enjoy the flight.
But what is a kite
Without you, precious wind?
You have never been an enemy
You’ve always been a friend.
Through your rough patterns
I have learned to stand strong,
Even in the storms,
You guided me along.
Being paid less than your value,
Is nothing but a shame
The start of America’s success,
You are to blame.
Because of you,
The unseen future looks bright
Because of you,
My kite never put up a fight.
Now I am a leader
Instead of sitting in the bleachers
And it is because of my wind,
All of my beloved teachers.
