In The Wind

  I feel
My heart
 Starting to pound; hard.
 Against my ribs

  Me eyes
Begin wandering.
  All around.
I can't bear; to look into yours
  So mine, glue to the ground

Your eyes.
 Have this shattered glaze
 To me; they've become numb
And turned away

  This knot.
  That I'd buried.
 Deep in the pit of my stomach;
 Claws it's way up;
  Into my throat

 I can feel, my eyes,
 On the brink of bursting.
 But then,
 They won't

  After years, of being my best friend;
Now you don't even see me
  After months, of fighting;
Now we don't even whisper goodbyes
  After weeks, of sleepless nights, sobbing;
 Now I simply can't find the tears

  Empty.
 I can not feel a heart,
 That once given to you,
 So not in my possession.
 No longer beating hard against my chest
 Because its you who still holds it

  Rewired.
  I feel,
Nothing now
 For nothing besides pain,
 Will register in my mind

  Paranoid.
  I can no longer think,
In ways that I used to
  For now every act of kindness,
 I have to look for darkness behind it.

 Scared.
 After years, of being my best friend
 After months, of fighting
 After weeks, of sleepless nights, sobbing;

 Broken.
