The Wind Beneath My Sail

Beautiful.

My best friend is so incredibly beautiful.

This 5' 7", strong and indpendent woman

has crinkly, black, African hair.

Milk chocolate eyes and a smile brighter than Venus,

compliment her charm and wonder.

Her skin is like the sun,

bright, vibrant, and an instant reflection of her radiant personaity.

She's got humor too!

Owning her random and rambunctious outbursts

make for an extremely hilarious night.

No matter what is going on in her life,

she stays in a constant state of fabulousness.

Men turn their heads when she walks by.

Women are in awe when in her presence.

My best friend is also what I like to call,

a culinary comforter,

filling the house with smells of cumin, garlic and curry

all wrapped up in one simple warming meal.

She is powerful,

and fully aware of her strength.

She's always finding something wise and meaningful to take away

from any experience.

All of these characteristics are great,

but there is one that overrides them all.

Her ability to maintain a state of pure love,

no matter what I do

makes her the most important woman in my life.

Everyday I long for her touch,

soft and gentle, like that,

of a dandylion.

Walk into the same room as her

and I promise you will experience the feminine goddess

and healing aura energy

that engulfs her perimeter.

When listening to her voice,

one can't help but hear a symphony composed of nature

and all its elemental instruments.

The sky, the moon, the plants and the stars

all shown through a simple hello.

My BFF is just the kind of person everyone needs in their life.

I am so happy to say I found a little bit of every woman

in one being of light.

Give it up for my day 1, my best friend, my heartbeat,

Adrienne Akech Wilson.

My Mom.
