"As the wind blows my hair"

As the wind blows my hair,

I can see you standing there.

Standing in the shadows,

why were you so shallow.

You were filled with remorse,

your parents were divorced.

Your eyes were dull and brown

you always seemed to frown.

But look at me today,

I smile everyday

I'm off to start a new life

Maybe be someone's wife.

My life isn't perfect,

but in the end it was all worth it.

And now I see you there standing,

while my life is expanding,

You are the old me,

and now I am free.

The war of the past is done,

and I have won.
