Wind-Up Toy

Wind-up toy, little girl

That’s all you are

Confuse yourself

For nothing more

You are not a friend

Not a person

Your feelings do not matter

You are simply a wind-up toy

And when we’re done

Away you’ll go

Replaced by something

Shiny and new

Little wind-up toy

And nothing more

It’s all you are

And all you’ll ever be
