The Window

I look out the unclear window in fright Why don't I see a beautiful sight? My eyes are damaged by what could be A world filled with peace and harmony Why do I see a world with violence? No one is motivated to stand up and see what happens so we sit in silence I close my eyes and accept the challenges I see today Blind to the fact that I'm the one who must make the change to say To say what? Do I start with "Sup?" How do I go about it? The authorities are the ones who should take a stab at it I'm just a girl in her teens I don't know what world peace means I'm one out of billions To get the word out I'd have to be made of millions The window is so big and wide It looks like it could cover the sky Or am I to blind to see? What has, and what could become of me? My eyes squint a little harder Because the speck of light seems to be getting smaller Do I have to clean the window myself to see? The good things that could become of me? Or will others come and help me out? Should I say a word or just shout? Cause it's not just about ME It's about us, it is about WE I look out the unclear window in fright Why don't I see a beautiful sight? The people come to help me out We know we change the world about If we work together what could we see? A world filled with peace and harmony? My eyes are open, no longer damaged Hungry for a better world, no longer in a period of famine
