The Window

He stood at the window and told me to stay strong

He stood at the window and told me he was sorry and he loved me

He stood at the window and said he would see me soon

that it was okay to cry

and that I would be fine

He moved away from the window and I was left alone

He moved away from the window and took my heart with it

He moved away from the window and didn't look back

The man I looked up to

The father and head of my house hold

gone

8 years later

He never came back to the window.
