Window Drawing

I remember riding on the train

chugging slowly through the winter rain

                      drawing pictures in the fog

                        on the car windows

         through the

              wooden shades

 and the nice old lady

gave me a broken candy cane

                          why are candy canes

                            always broken?

            and the dreamy

                  window drawing

                               lingers for a while

                                 but soon fades

                 dissolving on

                     the foggy pane
