Window Pain

I use to look out my window and see prostitutes

Red flags and blue suits

Stores being robbed and babies dying

14 year olds pregnant, dope boys posted

I wanted to be just like them

I use to look out my window to see red and black at war

They didn’t respect each other but they were feared by the world

Cool kids

With incredible swag

Large amounts of money and plenty of girls

I wanted to be just like them

I use to look out my window at 5:30 everyday

And I watched my homeboy Dre’

He met this dude at the bus stop wearing a black shirt

He had no name

Dre’ walked back past my window, counting his money

I wanted to be just like him

I used to look out my window and see my friends pregnant

15 with two kids

Getting walfare checks and food stamps

I wanted to be just like them

I used to look out my window

At all the people I wanted to be

It wasn’t until I got older that I realized

All of them would have rather been me

Just looking out the window
