The Window Pane
My head leans against the window pane.
A long time comes seems to pass,
since the night sky was covered in rain.
I sit staring through the same old glass,
like a dream I never could have.
The rain slowly falling through the clouds.
Causing everything to seem so sad.
The rain drops hit the ground so loud,
like a large drum beating so unkind.
The rhythm touches the soul and heart,
Like the world’s greatest find.
There is nothing like this piece of art.
The sun comes and the rain will be forestalled,
leaning on the window waiting for the rain to be recalled.
