Window to Within

On the outside: A clean cut woman,
A friend you can trust,
A pretty face,
And a body so robust.

But the window to within is covered,
Covered by a black curtain.
It is the world she hides the truth from
That leaves her uncertain.

Her bones are the structure for a civil war.
It's a constant battlefield she must endure.
Her decisions on life toss and turn,
Maybe one day she will learn:

1. Don't be afraid to make mistakes,
Because the world is her blank slate
At the purist form she will learn to appreciate.
2. Follow her heart and mind.
If they don't agree, they will in time.
For it's she that knows what she truly wants
She will fight past society's daunts.

One day her battlegrounds will be left in ruins.
It will be then that she realizes what she was doing.
She was at war with herself, her own worst enemy.
Finally she's the persons she wanted to be.
