windows

they say the eyes

are the windows to ones soul.

so why when you looked me in mine

i felt darkness?

why when you looked me in my tear-filled windows

i saw nothing in yours.

the light that once bewildered me left out of yours.

the lies that escaped your mouth

made my windows glisten of un-purified liquid.

my windows

 became nothing but shattered glass.

the light in my eyes

vanquished to sorrow and hurt.

the rose colored light i once look out of

was now grey.

the violet colored soul that i held was

 now black,

colorless.
